Offline · Private · Android

Every rupee accounted for. Nothing shared.

Amla reads the transaction texts your bank already sends and turns them into a clear picture of your money, on your phone and only on your phone.

🚫 No internet permission 👤 No account ☁️ No servers
Privacy by architecture

Not a promise. A permission it doesn't have.

Most apps ask you to trust their privacy policy. Amla removes the question: without the internet permission, Android itself guarantees the app cannot transmit anything.

🧱

Structurally private

No network permission means your data can't leave: not through a bug, not through a breach, not through a future “update to our terms.”

🧠

Intelligence, on-device

SMS parsing, machine learning, receipt OCR and voice entry all run locally. The clever parts happen on your phone, not on a server.

🧹

Leave without a trace

One tap wipes everything Amla stores. Your original bank SMS are untouched, so reinstall and it simply reads them again.

How it works

Your bank does the typing. Amla does the rest.

  1. 1

    Your bank already texts you

Amla reads the transaction SMS sitting in your inbox, the ones your bank sends anyway. No bank login, no linking, no forms.

  2. 2

    Parsed entirely on-device

A rules engine and an on-device ML model turn each text into a structured transaction: amount, merchant, payment method, category.

  3. 3

    Understood, not just listed

Budgets, category breakdowns, forecasts, subscriptions and anomalies, all reconstructed from your own history, locally.

  4. 4

    Nothing ever leaves

Everything is stored on your phone. Amla ships without the internet permission, so there is nothing to send and nowhere to send it.

Insights

See where it goes.
Know where it's going.

  • Smart month-end forecast: projected from your recurring bills, rent and EMIs, robust to one-off big purchases.
  • Anomaly callouts: “Dining is 40% above your usual,” surfaced automatically.
  • Calendar heatmap: your month shaded by daily spend, with upcoming recurring payments on their due dates.
  • By category, merchant & method: donuts, rankings and month-by-month history you can step through.
  • Investments count as savings: money you move into investments isn't “spending.”

Full-strength tracking, zero surveillance

✉️

Reads your bank SMS

Scans on launch and parses new texts live as they arrive. Structural detection ignores OTPs, promos, reminders and balance alerts.

🏷️

Categories that learn

Automatic guesses you can correct once. Amla remembers the merchant and applies your fix to every future text.

📸

Receipts & voice

Photograph a receipt and on-device OCR fills in the details. Or just say it: “add toilet paper 150 rupees from Jio Supermarket.”

📅

Subscriptions, spotted

Recurring charges detected from your history, with next-due dates, reminders and a weekly digest.

🎯

Budgets & goals

A monthly limit with clear over/under indicators, plus named savings goals that fill up as you save.

🔒

App lock & reset

Optional fingerprint / face / PIN lock, and a one-tap reset that wipes the app while your original SMS stay untouched.

FAQ

Fair questions

Does Amla see my bank login or connect to my bank?

No. It only reads the transaction SMS already on your phone. It has no internet access; the app ships without the network permission entirely.

Where is my data stored?

Only on your device. Backups go wherever you choose via the system file picker: a local file, your own drive folder, anywhere. Nothing is uploaded by Amla.

What if it misreads a message?

You can correct everything (direction, merchant, amount, date, payment method, category), and your fixes stick. A re-scan will never overwrite them.

Does it work outside India?

Yes. You pick your base currency (₹, $, £, S$, A$ and more), and detection is structural rather than tied to phrase lists. It is most battle-tested on Indian bank formats today.

Is there an iPhone version?

Amla is Android-only. iOS does not let apps read SMS, which is the whole trick, so an equivalent iPhone app is not possible by design.
